Oakland CA Chiropractor
Dr. Vu Tran, DC, BS
During my college years, I realized an important aspect of my life was declining, that is health. Although I was an active person, I knew my body’s potentials were being limited from greater possibilities. The warning signs of having sporadic lower back spasms, fatigue, and irrational heart palpitations were nerve racking. At the age of 21, this was not how I wanted to live my life. It was affecting my education, activities I love to do, family life, concentration and focus, in all sums, my quality of life. I knew a change in the horizon must be on the top of my list.
Fortunately, my sister introduced me to a chiropractor. To tell you the truth, I never even heard of a chiropractor. The lack of knowledge about chiropractic came from living in a small town in South Carolina for several years. However, I trusted my sister, so I made an appointment to see the chiropractor. It was one of the most influential decisions I have made. The chiropractor educated me about the integrity of the nervous system and how my scoliosis (improper curvature of the spine) was adversely affecting it. I had no idea that I had a crooked back that was developing within me since childhood and it could have been prevented given the proper care. For this reason, it is important to not wait for signs or symptoms to arise before getting care. The chiropractor educated me more about chiropractic and how there are many factors that can affect the integrity of our nervous system including traumas, poor posture, poor ergonomics, stress, toxins, etc. Chiropractic is also about prevention and maintaining wellness. With chiropractor care, the difference how my body felt was monumental. My body felt in tuned, balance, and pain/spasm free. My energy, focus, concentration, basically my life was starting to come back together with each session. At this time in my life, I decided if chiropractic changed my life, I will love to make this an opportunity for others. I decided to have a career change from a pre-veterinarian to a natural, holistic healer for the human body. I graduated at UC Davis with a biology degree: emphasis on neurobiology, physiology, and behavior. With my new found youth and solid belief system in our body’s natural capability to heal itself, I became a chiropractor. I graduated Magna Cum Laude in the top 5% of my class and here I am today making differences in my patients’ lives and looking forward to making a difference in yours.
